It was a thing of nothing really.

When the french scored just before halftime, Blue 14 was close to the touchline, Nigel Owens double checked with the TMO to see if there was any reason he could not award the try. On the replay we see only the tackler’s feet go in touch just before the line. At which point the try scorer has been released by the wouldbe tackler.
Owen Farrell spoke to NO at this point seeking clarification and was sent packing. Not sure what was said, but along the lines of we are looking into it, go away. He then apologised to Farrell for his dismissive tone. Obviously they don’t teach referees to never ever apologise.
"Sorry I was a bit snappy with you then," said Owens.
But Farrell saw the funny side and quipped: "It's okay, you're the boss."

well, I havent watched enough games to give much analysis but

    - I thought Nic Berry was a safe pair of hands for Englad Italy.
    - my big criticism was that his communication was very one sided - long conversations with one team (england) and not the other.
For instance at one point he asked Kyle Sonkler what was going wrong in the scrum, (it was the other guy's fault, apparently).

I would never ask one prop that question without also asking the other.
(It's a pretty stupid question anyway - they will both say it's the other guy)

Elsewhere Ben O Keefe seems to have jeopardised his place at the RWC ? Seems to be a lot of talking points from Ire v France

I'm only half way through the Ireland game.

Thus far? Others have had worse games in the tournament, and he handled the two chippy Irish halfbacks quite calmly.

Where are those talking points? Would be interesting to read what is being said.

I've seen him on quite a few super rugby games and I haven't rated him that highly at that level?

well I'll chip in... despite what seemed to be many French PKs in their own 22, it took 67 minutes to eventually award a YC.
