Thought LPs communication was a bit haphazzard - often very good, clear and concise, but occasionally he would stop saying anything or occasionally say "Italy" with no further explanation.

I noticed that WB used some French during play. I have always been against this. My view is that all internationals should be refereed using the only possible lingua franca ie English, and during play referees should use fixed phrases that will be understood by all players. Both teams are entitled to know what the referee is saying.
He trudg’d along unknowing what he sought,
And whistled as he went, for want of thought.

I felt WB was very quick to blow down Wales's try for obstruction, rather than let it run and review with TMO. Was it clearly material in one view and at full speed?

Yeah it was, massive hole created after the Wales player took out a defender who wasn't bound in the ruck.

Hope the stars align so Barnes can do RWC2019 final - would be a deserved end to a great career

Thought WB controlled game well but did anybody else think that the backfoot offside was not managed, particularly in 1st half with France blitzing?

Good call, I thought. Pretty clear obstruction for me.

Maybe Picamoles(?) wouldn't have got there anyway, but if so why take the risk? And it was an intentional infringement, so would be treated as being material by default.

Surprised nobody's mentioned Barnes' advantage for Wales' second try!

Excellent bit of refereeing that's very easy to get wrong.
