    Default Slapper (Lol)

So, who thinks the Sinkler go off with some very un sportsman like behaviour yesterday. I for one do. I would've give him a YC and though long and hard about a red under foul play.

red? for that? if they start giving reds for that potentially players will have a proper swing - may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb etc

YC wasn't outside of possibility for stupidity alone.

If I was Nigel Owen I would have given him a YC.

If I was Arthur Iturria I would have given him a left hook.

Thought you were going to say 'If I was N.O. I would have asked him to apologise' !!

If the french player had the ball and Sinclair pulled his scrum cap off it would be a definite pk and very likely a yellow card. Stupid stuff considering England were well ahead, I would think Eddie Jones would be as annoyed as anyone over his behaviour.

He'd def think twice about being so stupid again, if he got RC. It would be more of a conducty/bad sportsmanship/spirit of the game type thing rather than the actual slap. It was petulant rather than dangerous, but I've seen a player badly concussed as a result of a slap before. Where do you draw the line.... Ref, my fist only brushed his nose..... I didn't hit him that hard....... He's not KO'd or cut, suely that's just a yellow......

Nah, I'm of the opinion that's not part of the game, off the ball and shouldn't be allowed to happen. This is just going to give player licence to start slapping their opponents and just expecting a pen decision. Slippery slope there.

Sanctions on the field have a sliding scale. Free Kick, Penalty Kick, Admonishment, Yellow Card, Red Card.

If you are going to go straight to a Red Card for a slap on the head, where do you escalate to?
You are going to look pretty stupid as a referee if the next offence is 5 punches to the face and gets the same punishment!

Essentially it is the same thing. You're striking an opponent. The resultant length of ban would then differentiate the more serious offences. It's like saying I can't RC you for punching you opponent, coz what happens if someone else kicks someone in the face....

Silly of Sinckler, it's exactly the reaction they were hoping for; he's a wind-up merchant himself and should know better.

If (as is suggested in the comments) blue 7 scratched his face, what's the fair call - two cards? Or red for near eyes, yellow retaliation, PK to blue?

When it comes to Kyle Sinkler I'm with Peter O'Mahony.
