I was ARing in Hampshire - Winchester hosting French side Laon.

Nothing but fists for the first 7 minutes.

Referee: I've got better things to do on Easter weekend. Match abandoned.

Back in the late 60s we (Eagle Rock in Southern Cal) hosted a French side. In the first few minutes our #10 and #12 get into fighting each other. No love lost there.

We had no trouble from the visitors after that.

And can you really argue with that? We are volunteers here to support the game (and enjoy being the boss for the only time in our lives!). If the players want to acts as thugs and idiots, they can find someone else to referee their games. Or soon realise no-one will referee their games and they can't play.
