    Default Conflicts of interest

    In light of Peypergate ...

Is is acceptable to go down to your nearest rugby club in the morning to watch the RWC final .. and then go back to referee their 1st XV in the afternoon.

Have you issued a red card to any of the opposition players? :-)

Level 1 -4 and the Raging Bull Shield have fixtures (but you said 1st XV).
Below that I believe there are no league fixtures (except make up games) but there may be cup matches.

It's a rearranged game, postponed earlier in the season

I have a feeling it may be postponed a second time !

Down here until a couple of years ago, 3 of the senior referee's had been the president of one of the clubs - we got to referee them at least 3 times per year. I refereed them in their grand final this year - although I have little contact with the "Club" anymore - if people don't like that you as a referee have personal integrity and can separate game time from socially engaging with other members of the rugby community outside your official duties my response is they can f*ck right off.

I couldn't agree more with this, we have a small pool of refs and clubs and guys refereeing their own clubs will always happen. It's actually a great step in the development of a referee to see how they handle the extra pressure and familiarity of refereeing their ex-team mates on their home ground.
