But they are not deciding that. They are deciding that they do not want to be associated with the particular behviour of certain inviduals in the game. The rugby club is perfectly within their rights to hire that player anyway, they will just have to proceed without that sponsor on board.

Oh dear the bit in bold is so wrong! It is only a minority of Christians that hold the same belief as him. His belief comes form a distorted selective reading of the Bible.

Please don't tar all with the same brush.

I thought you were discussing Paddy Jackson?

Looks like a positive outcome for Israel Folau might still be possible. Get to play with a team of likeminded individuals (or bigoted fellow Christians, if you prefer) and continue playing International Rugby. (And the added possibility of a 4million dollar windfall (from Rugby Australia) to help with his relocation.)

    Rugby values is an oxymoron.

Sponsor values are based on money.

Please do not give rugby any more value than it deserves. Please do not think all sponsor decisions are based w/o 100% concern for money.

no, sponsor are just regular companies, no more or less money oriented than professional rugby clubs

With Paddy Jackson the issue facing both London Irish and Diageo are exactly the same

I would be, but if you replaced "global" with "USA" then I wouldn't be so sure...
