Friendly in Mountain Ash tomorrow. Coming after two youth games that were both excellent. Second one a 7-7 draw in the mud. The away team going through.

First game back from injury last week and no issues with my torn calf

Was a little rusty on my management...assessor said I should have had more in the bin and sooner! (3 yellows and a red). Not something I usually have a problem with, so something to watch this week, although totally different teams this week so not anticipating it to be the same challenges.

    Staffordshire Cup this weekend Lindley & Kidsgrove v Rugeley. L8 v L9

Team of three on Wednesday; Royal Air Force women v British Fire Service Women.

Rearranged fixture for me this week

Northampton Old Scouts -v- Leicester Forest

    6th plays 2nd.

Hopefully their won't be a colour clash - home team on standby to change!

Unexpected first - double header as AR2 for Durham County U16s vs Northumberland (As and Bs) tomorrow, two good refs swapping Ref and AR1 duties so expect to be looked after

How did this one go Phil? No repeat injury?

All good thanks, even did the U14s on Sunday morning.

Cup game was a bit one sided at 66:12 but everyone had good fun.

I offered to run touch for the away team at my local club's Staffs Cup game. They declined and their subs shared the job walking up and down the line in a desultory manner while shouting at their players and appealing to the referee - something I hated in my reffing days. Still needing to be involved I became a superannuated ballboy, retrieving kicks at goal which went over the stop netting and clambering over fences to recover touch kicks from the adjacent Doxey Marsh.

Ame went well with top marks for scrum management. A few minus points, including getting too close to the breakdown (got in the way and took a dive into the mud at one point). A more than acceptable assessment. Happy Days.

Two new teams this week With Hartridge Stages and Caerleon Helmets. being the sides. A trip to the "Beautiful fishish village of Newport".

Did I mention I'm reffing in Laos this weekend? Currently lying by a pool in Thailand sucking on a Leo* getting ready for the border crossing.
