Not appointed these days but volunteered to run touch for Uttoxeter 2 visiting Stafford 2 on the opening day of their magnificent new clubhouse and pitches on Blackberry Lane. Now have 3G 1st XV pitch plus 3 grass pitches (know which I prefer).

Ironically - me and junior got stuck on M1 due to a fatal RTC and after a few calls to ARs got to Huddersfield at 15h10 for a 15h00 KO.

Teams had agreed to delay 'til 15h15. He got changed in the passenger seat whilst we were sat in the queue. 1 hour to do 800m.

Apparently the rules are AR1 can referee and Referee can take over up to half-time. After HT AR1 does the whole gig. Anyway he was there for the start - just - so that wasn't needed.

Quite a good performance all things considered.
