    Default Law Change - 3.3

    Another unflagged Law change

3.33 Tactically replaced players may return to play only when replacing:
    a An injured front-row player.
    b A player with a blood injury.
c A player undertaking an HIA with a head injury.
d A player who has just been injured as a result of foul play (as verified by the match officials).
e The nominated player described in Law 3.19 or 3.20.

I wish WR would go back to the old practice, telling people about Law changes, and highlighting them

Well done England Rugby for pointing it out.

(change is on the website and the pdf - but not in the app)

It was rewritten to reflect that 95% of the matches played do not have HIA protocols (L4 and up).

indeed - and it's a very sensible change.

WR should announce and highlight it.

Pragmatically, I'm going to apply this to "possible" or "suspected" head injuries as well. In the community game, that's the only sensible approach to take. There might be bigger implications in showbiz, though I'm not sure what they could be.
If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you... you must be a rugby referee!

in the community game (in England) we are using rolling subs and interchanges ( or almost always?) so the tactically replaced person can return anyway.

There are no HIA protocols at L3 and L4. Only L1 and L2. I.e. fully professional game.

Indeed , it is only professional s who are allowed and expected to continue to play following a suspected head injury
