We ordered about 300 of the buggers, and give them to referees, refs on exchange and people we like.
I move house in the Summer, and I'm getting the hairy eyeball from Mrs to get rid of the coins I still have. My argument that they will be goodwill gifts wherever we end up is thus far not working.

Surely the point of the toss is to decide who gets to kick off or choose ends?????
and asked the away Captain to kick or choose ends.
not much point having a toss if you're gonna ask the away captain to choose anyway

I think the bit he missed is the "one of the captains tosses the coin" bit.

After trying it once, I would never use a coin that didn't have a clear head on one side, and hence tails on the other.

I use a £2 or 50p coin as those are the biggest

    Last coin toss.

Home Captain gets coin - my 1932 Half Crown - looks at it, and then looks at me like I've passed him a radio-active turd.

Asks me who that (George V) is.

Tosses coin. Away Captain forgets to call heads or tails. Home Captain picks George up and has another go.

    "Heads" says away captain.

    I look. "Heads it is!"

    "We'll receive" says away captain.

"Which end do you want?" says I.

"So he get's two choices?" says home Skipper (remember him, the History scholar).

Inwardly sigh and think this is going to be a ****ing long day.

    It was.

It won't be long before some young members of a future thread will be asking 'what's a coin'?
Anyone for a credit card flip?
