I strongly suspect it won’t be too long before he says something unacceptable (to the terms of his new contract) and the Catalan Dragons end up regretting their decision.
We have an agreement signed with the RFL. Any violation will result in the immediate termination of Israel's contract and a substantial fine for the club. "
Sounds like immediate effect could be the shock treatment Israel needs.

He may end up getting a shoeing.
Wigan’s players will wear rainbow socks and laces for the game against the Dragons in an act Lenagan insists is positive. “We’ve shown we’re proud of our diversity and we’re taking positive action to show we want to be proud of our Pride Day,” said Lenagan, who has already spoken to both Catalans and Stonewall.

He may end up getting rainbow shoelaces to wear also, since everyone should be included in the game celebrating inclusion.

before you hail Wigan, consider this from same article

I sincerely doubt he would wear them if offered some by the opposition squad on match day.

Many have evoked Israel’s right to freedom of speech, for this bigotry. Holocaust deniers and other far right extremists also say they have a right to say what they think. Not so. Hate speech is not free speech, it is a blatant attack on minorities.
It is easy to hold a moral ground without experiencing its real-world consequences. It is dangerously simplistic to frame “hate speech” as merely about speech and to measure its consequences in terms of hurt feelings only because hate speech negatively impacts the health of its victims, and at its worst it inspires hate crimes.
Your freedom stops, where other folks’ freedom begins.

    [.
It certainly would be appropriate for Wigan to include the Dragons in celebration. Would excluding the dragons on the basis of one player then be a form of hate speech?

    .
I suspect that IF views put him in a minority group based on religion. Is any attack on him hate speech?

Can hate speech occur when it is against a majority group? Such as, Catholics.

Does hate speech not depend on the nature of the speech rather than the nature of the target?

If I remember right, the essence of his tweet was to the effect that the Bible says gay people won't go to heaven.

Which I don't think puts him in the same bracket as, say, a holocaust denier. Nor does it make him a right wing extremist. Amongst people who believe in heaven (and it's variants) I daresay its an extremely common view. (Indeed until very recently it was the orthodox view ) .

Last week in the UK we had a bishop saying that all sexual activity outside heterosexual marriage was wrong.

Thankfully many of us don't believe in heaven any more, which robs the statement of its impact, but clearly its a statement of disapproval.

Its just a bit more tangled than you allow , i'itlandais.

I do agree that IF views are wrong and unwelcome in rugby, but I can't see it in the simplistic black and white way you did.

I prefer the King's Cross Steelers approach : play rugby. Have an inclusive team. Engage with bigots on the field and in the bar afterwards. Over time, change attitudes

Last week in the UK we had a bishop saying that all sexual activity outside heterosexual marriage was wrong.

They have now apologised for saying that.
