    the difference is usually due to distances and defensive preparation time. A charge pre tap for a penalty 5m out gives defenders little time to set up properly to tackle.

    attacking from a scrum, the receiving player is likely a long way from the defensive line when they get the ball, or defenders are already moving and understand the attacking line leaving them better able to tackle safely.

    Thats how I justify the Calvary charge being illegal anyway.

    No, I don’t think it was a maul either (white player not bound and on feet - merely attempting a tackle) so I think I would be calling ‘use it now’

    Watching it one in real time my thought was accidental offside for that one.
