    Default Colour clash

Did anyone see the Stormers vs Highlanders game- both teams in virtually indistinguishable blue. How did that get allowed to happen?

If I was the ref I would be tempted to get my blue shirt out

Used to occur at Sunday morning junior matches: 'Right home team, turn your shirts inside out' (Not sure that would please the sponsors at pro level.)

it's ridiculous. At that level all teams have alternative shirts (complete with sponsor logos) and all teams should be required to store a spare set in their stadium, just for this eventuality, to be worn if the referee deems necessary

Maybe, and presumably, the referee didn't deem it necessary!

I felt that on Saturday Luke Pearce's shorts and socks were too similar to Italy's, but I guess elite refs have to wear sponsored kit too. Anyway, they spend so much time talking to the players that their whereabouts are always obvious.

Teams know each other's colours. Upsetting the sponsors is their problem not the referees!
