Im with Dickie on this, when a player is tackling from behind then they will try to grab anything, shorts, jersey , socks whatever they can get a hand on. If a player has really long hair and the player unintentionally grabs it I cant see why they should take all the blame for that situation.

If they stick their hand out and grab someone by the hair then thats a different scenario, thats a Yc min and a possible RC.

It would be hard to sell a high tackle if the defender tries to grab a players shorts and ends up with a handful of hair.

Theres a personal responsibility on the hairy player as well.
Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door !

Right - just so I completelyunderstand the nuance I have clearly beenmissing.

IF a nailed on try is prevented by a PK infirngemernt that is also clearly accidental and not deliberate (ie is not foul play) then a PT can never be awarded, only a PK?

By letter of Law, no PT
    In real life
.. it's a really unlikely scenario that never happens (I don't really think the example is very likely)
.. if it did happen you may well give a PT anyway, depending ..

I'd problably interpret the offence as "intentional" so that it comes under Foul Play. My judgement!

i don’t see how a player with long hair can take any blame or culpability for foul play by a tackler. If the tackler pulls the hair they must take full responsibility for that action, it is never in anyway even partly the long haired players fault for having long hair.

Zebra - I think what they're saying is if one has hair tied back and hanging halfway down the back and a defender accidentally grasps it when attempting a tackle. The hair owner should really have it tied up?

Accidentally grasps it or accidentally grasps it, and ten accidentally holds on tight enough to pull them over by their hair ?

Why not? If a player has a necklace on and gets dragged to the ground by it ... don't they have some equity in that?
I, for one, like Roman numerals
