Im not picking on the bloke but maybe this indicates an issue in such a fixture to be even vaguely feasible?

There is a history of something similar.

Back in the 80s Bath played either Wigan or Hull KR in two matches; one played to League rules and the other to Union Laws. If memory serves the League side won both matches - much to the surprise of Bath (who at the time were in their heyday)

Sorry. Both games were won comfortably by the appropriate code.

wigan beat Bath 82-6 in the league game. Bath beat Wigan 44-19 in the union game.

This suggestion seems to be a "mixed" code whatever that means though the report mentions one half of league amnd the other of union which doesnt really suggest a mixed code, just two mini-games in effect.

Meh. No real interest from me. I don't see the fascination of this kind of game.
If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you... you must be a rugby referee!

I can see why they might be interested though, Money
NZR chief executive Mark Robinson confirmed the talks about the games were going ahead and cited the “unique” state of the world as a potential for new ideas.

“We must be very clear that our priority is for the All Blacks to play international rugby for the remainder of the year and we’ve talked about the uncertainty around that,” Robinson told journalists.

“But we’ve had the option put to us of this hybrid game with the Kangaroos, and it’s one of many different scenarios in a unique year like this that we are considering with being innovative and having a focus on trying to consider revenue-generating ideas at this time.”

The league team will win the league game and the union team will win the union game, obviously.
