If anyone in this here place has experience with athletic pubalgia (aka sports hernia) either as a sufferer or treater, could you DM me?
I think my year is done.
I thought I had one once and our Physio said the only way to check is for him to stick his finger inside you up the base of your p***s.
We decided to wait a bit and see what happened!!!!
He told me they are quite common and easily treatable. Doesn't usually stop you playing.

Fingers and other body parts crossed.
At the moment I struggle to walk 50 yards or stand up for any period of time.

That sounds like more than a sportsman's hernia. Have you seen a doctor (make a sound like a rubber glove being stretched over a hand!)

X ray and contrast scan tomorrow. Updates will follow
Fingers crossed (no pun intended).

I though that was in the job description for being a Scot!
Get well soon!

Sounds like yours is sportsman's hernia plus the added bonus of adductor tendon tear?

On the basis of a phone call from my Doc, who saw the X rays and Contrast CT - it's tendonitis (or tendinitis)
Which is better than I expected. Given the length of time I've been carrying it *cough* years *cough* I think the normal anti inflams and RICE isn't going to be the recommendation.
(And just before m'learned Medical People sigh too much) it started a long time ago as a pain that could come and go. Then the break between come and go got shorter and shorter until it is now pretty much permanent 'come'
