• RugbyRefs.com member named as HSBC 7's Series Referee

Congratulations once again goes to Bryan Arciero who is certainly a referee that is going places, in particular Wellington & Las Vegas this year. For those who are not sure who Bryan is, he is the referee pictured on either side of this site.

Bryan has been named on the list of appointed referees to officiate at the expanded 2012/2013 HSBC 7's series which starts in the Gold Coast in October.

Rugby 7's is now, from the 13th August 2012, an Olympic Sport and the officials named will be doing their best to try and secure a spot at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The full list of appointed referees is:

    Federico Anselmi (Argentina)
    Bryan Arciero (Canada)
    James Bolabiu (Fiji)
    Taizo Hirabayashi (Japan)
    David Keane (Ireland)
    Michael Kelly (USA)

    Andrea Spadoni (Italy)
    Ian Tempest (England)

I suspect we have a number of "guests" who would love to join in the rough and tumble, but are far too corporately aware - the game is getting much too professional.... :-)

Just think what your finger does though!

      - Time keeps for the Rebels
      - Time keeps for the IRB 7s
      - Types into google for the funny pics on here
      - Points at people you are penalising on a Saturday.

Seems like it's a pretty busy finger to me...

Why isn't this pre binding penalised ?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dsDShiC6kRtNg3V_zGU6zTXo7hdKTlSa/view?usp=drivesdk In the Wasps Brstol game, there were numerous cases of (mainly Wasps) pre binding with more than 1 player and before contact. I tried to add a video link above , of one such example Personally I'd like to see...

I have such mixed thoughts on this. 1. Interviewer (gender irrelevant) clearly attempts to bait Farrell 2. Interviewer cops social media abuse for doing so 3. Interviewer sits in car crying because of the abuse 4. RFU apologises for the abuse Something about "heat" and "kitchens" comes to...

Wales vs Eng - Knock on and Time back on after asking captain to speak to players

Iím English, Iím biased, but not convinced the French ref is having a good game. In reverse order; 2nd Welsh try, for me the Welsh winger is in possession as trying to gather the ball, knocks forward on to himself, doesnít regather therefore a knock on. 1st try, kudos to Wales for spotting...

    Jumping or Diving Clarification required

Thinking about the debate the Johnny May try has created I think world rugby need to look at this and clarify what constitutes a fair competition. If Johnny May had caught the Italian defender with his knee, he would have been penalised and possibly yellow or red carded for dangerous play. If...
