• Win a signed Referee Shirt - Enter our Rugby Championship Prediction contest

Would you like to win a Referee shirt signed by some of the most elite referees in the world? (You can still play for fun and not donate if you like).

You do? Good, because this is your chance.

Signed referee shirts from a group of referees are some of the rarest shirts you can get, in 2011 We gave away a signed Rugby World Cup 2011 referee shirt signed by all the appointed referees, so our prizes are pretty special!

If you want to be in with a chance of winning a shirt, or other prizes then be sure to enter our tipping/prediction contest, all that is required to enter is a donation, how much is up to you, all I ask is that it be in whole US$, Aus$, NZ$, GBP or Euros.

You can make a donation by using the donation widget to the right of the forums page (click here) or by sending the money through paypal to robert@burns.net.

All donations go towards helping RugbyRefs.com continue to serve the referee community of the globe, as we have been doing for almost 10 years.

The rules of the tipping/predication contest are fairly simple, it works on a lowest score wins system, and if scores are even is then decided by most perfect predictions. It DOES also include the third Bledisloe Cup fixture.

    The scoring is:

1, Players are required to predict the winning team, and the winning margin.
2, The closer to the actual prediction you get, the less points you receive, the winner will be the person with the least points.
3, Point scoring is as follows:
A, Predicting the correct winning team, and correct margin (including correct prediction of a draw) will get -5 points.
B, Predicting the winning team, but incorrect margin will score the difference between the correct margin and your prediction.
C, Predicting the wrong team will see you score the difference between the scores plus a 15 point penalty.
D, Failing to submit a prediction scores the difference between zero & the actual margin, plus a 25 point penalty (50 points if draw).
    Examples:
Prediction Actual Score Points Penalties Total Points
    Eng by 5 Eng by 5 -5 0 -5
    Eng by 5 Eng by 8 3 0 3
    Eng by 5 Sco by 3 8 15 23
    Eng by 5 Draw 5 15 20
    No Prediction Eng by 5 5 25 30
    No Prediction Draw 0 50 50
The table is sorted first by Score, then by amount of correct predictions.

So hurry up and join in the fun.

Donate now if you want to be in with a chance to win the prizes (Let me know here), but either way head here to put your predictions in.

    You only have until Saturday!

    Good Luck!!

What is the definition of the playing a ball in the scrum?

    Thread Starter: Blindside

When is the scrum over with regards to the 9 playing the ball, is it when he touches it, or like a ruck when he picks it up. Law 19 states its when he plays the ball, but what is the definition of playing it? (edit, sorry missed out "9"in title question)

    Position at tap FK/penalty

    Thread Starter: smeagol

When a side is awarded a PK/FK and are going to tap, assuming it's not a quick tap and you have time to get into position, what is the best position to take relative to the attacking side? If I see pods forming, I usually try to set up 1-2m directly behind the player taking the tap so as to be...
