Well done Bedford! (Guess what OB stands for.)

Some talented players on show. The rugby was at times excellent, at times naive, but credit to both teams for an exciting game.

Who was the ref OB ?

One of our refs, now on Panel, did the semi final Epsom v Blundells with two Society ARs. He said Epsom were a very good side, and that the whole school was watching the match.

When were you at Bedford? I taught there 1977-80. Met Pat Briggs at a Steele Bodgers lunch yesterday. -first time I've seen him for 35 years.

Ref was Tom Foley who, coincidentally, led the main session at our last Society meeting.

Excellent referee. I watched him 4 or 5 seasons ago as a L5 at Maidenhead and he was way ahead of the others on Group. He has had a rapid rise up the rankings on Panel and into Elite.

anyone else from the university of life?

(although the wife went to cambridge, so i'm almost worthy of posting on this page...)

Maths and Theoretical Physics at Queens' then teaching both subjects at Bedford.
Did Jurisprudence with a young don at Queens' (can't remember his name) but maths had to wait until the Open University was invented. Bedford couldn't timetable French, German and Maths for A levels in those days.

Good to see social boundaries are alive and well in the motherland.

Now sod off I have to walk ma'ams corgis.:biggrin:
