Offside line for scrum half at scrum

I'll happily take other peoples opinions on just what is meant by "on" and "at", and if I can find the video from Wayne I'll happily look at it and follow his advice.

My thinking prior to seeing this trail was along the lines of...
"If someone says the ball is at the number 8's feet, then we'd all agree it is at the back of the scrum and the number 8 could break off and pick it up. If the SH is 10 meters away and facing their Number 10 then he cannot pick up the ball at the number 8's feet because he is not there. If 19.30 allowed the SH to move across the pitch then the law would say 'level with the hindmost foot' rather than at the hindmost foot."

Luckily I've not had it happen in any of my matches so far :)

This is an exam, ple of where OB (muchly missed) would say the laws are not written with legal expectations of scrutiny such as would be expected in a court of law.

I would certainly agree this can end up with some ambiguously worded laws.
