Thoughts on this try

and we are back also to OB's "nothing accidental happens at these levels".
So you think Kolbe intended to restart the game with his kick?
For the record, I disagree with that quote as it is demonstrably untrue

If you think CK was intentionally taking a dropout and restarting the game ... well then there is no refereeing conundrum at all.
But really ? With every single SA player in front of him, he kicked across the pitch and stood and watched what would happen?

Ive absolutely no idea what Kolbe was intending

What i would sday is when you are a professional you own your actions. And so at that level it just has to be counted as deliberate - cos why would a professional do something so stupid if they didn't know what they were doing? Unless of course they are incompetent ...

Then he is inmcompetent and has to accept the consequences of his ill thought actions.

CF: kikcing off directly short to a player in froint of the kicker at the time of the kick. Why was that done ? Having made that kickoff/restart what was he expecting to happen?

sorry if this changes the topic, but the CK dropkickoff has been clubbed to death - we can all move on.

how very unlike Rassie! :-) LOL.
Weird how that is still the perception.

The Lions tour 26 decision points video will hold up in time, as it's extensive and backed up by good evidence.
The tweet complaining about Wayne Barnes that got him further banned is hilarious to look at now because it was sarcastic.
This is three years ago now, anything further to add to this? I think you'll find he's playing the social media game quite well.

on the contrary, off the top of my head:
Du Pont after France RWC 1/4 final loss.
Joe Schmidt against Lions (2nd test?).
Contemponi against Australia last month
Joe Schmidt against All Blacks last month

All complained directly against the referee in the official post match press conference. As far as I know this is strictly veboten but all unsanctioned (but happy to be wrong here). If any coach/captain gets sanctioned now, it would look silly since the precedent has been set.

but yes, let's go back to that Lions tour, everyone seems to have dropped it but poor old Warren.

Jesus. No, I still Erasmus is a complete cunt. He might be a good coach, but apart from I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.

It was a joke FFS.

And had the square root of fuck all to do with rassie being a twat on a video. FFS.

FFS.

Did I say FFS yet?

indeed, but many a true word spoken in jest. It did open the door nicely for me to show the complete double standards here.
So here's the tweets that got him banned for two matches.

Seems rather tame compared to complaining about the ref in the post match conference or am I missing somerthing?

I don't think a ref forum is a great place to play off disrespect towards MOs with mock-innocence, much less to hijack threads to do so. At least start your own thread where those who wish to can join in, otherwise Facebook and YouTube comment sections are the place to be.

Well the thing for me is , he correctly restarted the game.

Why would you DK the ball ? why not pass it or punt pass it ?

With SA you simply cant turn your back on them as they are constantly trying new things .

If the other winger ran onto that ball and ran the length of the pitch then everyone would be saying, brilliant restart, caught the Pumas napping.

You cant have it both ways. CK should and probably does know the laws, maybe it was a trial run for it later in the game. Maybe it was a brain fart.

Correct decision for me and kudos to the Pumas player who had the knowledge to let it go to the 5m line.

Well, if you allow the DK pass as a valid restart, then you'd have to ping the punt pass as an incorrectly taken restart. Scrum 5.
You can't have it both ways.
And what if the DK had been caught by the SA player under the posts? What then?
