Three questions spring to mind
1. Without referring to seagulls, how far beyond the back foot of the last player in a ruck does a ball have to be before it is out?
2. How long can a scrum half keep his hand on a ball despite it being beyond the back foot...
Amongst many issues with the ruck currently, clearly the growth of the caterpillar is one area that could be reviewed and managed differntly.
Should a ball being fed back in the caterpillar be considered out of the ruck and in the open?
At times we see 3 or even 4 players extending the "ruck"...

I’m English, I’m biased, but not convinced the French ref is having a good game. In reverse order;
2nd Welsh try, for me the Welsh winger is in possession as trying to gather the ball, knocks forward on to himself, doesn’t regather therefore a knock on.
