Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

Having gone through the health and safety / risk policy / temp testing and segregation process for Prem 15s on Saturday I can see lots of reasons why, and none related to what happens on pitch....

    Re: Exeter Racing .. Slade

If you have to tell Elite players on the ground to do anything other than get up then the standards are wrong somewhere!

    Re: Exeter Racing .. Slade

If it does apply then it makes it near impossible to defend the goal line so I’m going to assume NO is correct here

    Re: Exeter Racing .. Slade

Yup, he got called on this on twitter, so offsides line in the goal line, and no requirement to come through the gate (that bit of the ruck doesn’t exist as in goal?) - it’s an odd picture I’ll admit.

[Law] Re: All blacks third try tackled or not?

All correct, my point was that you need to use the input available to you to make a decision as to whether that person has been held and brought to ground, 9 times out 10 that will involve the ball...

[Law] Re: All blacks third try tackled or not?

My gut reaction was play on, at full speed I didn’t see any slow in momentum or movement from the ball carrier to suggest he’d been held on the ground, looked like he was able to just keep on going -...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

It’s my club, needed a couple of volunteers on the day pre-match documenting temp checks, stewarding the different zones (who can go where etc). Was a good insight into what’s required, and answer...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

Ah, ok, yes that probably is still a scrum option as it’s unusual. I was at the DMP Sharks game today and there were 4 scrums, a held up, a stop for injury, and a reset that I recall. 1st scrum was...

There shouldn’t be a scrum option at a pen of free kick no

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

I’m on Hi-Viz duties at the DMP vs Worcester game tomorrow (the behind the scenes is like a military operation Green, Amber and Red Zones with ID Cards that tell you which ones you can go in!), the...
  11. [Law] Re: Quick taps, poor refereeing standards at top level

Sure, but at that point we’ve entered into a different phase of the game, prior to that the ball is still live and my attention is (should be!) elsewhere
  12. [Law] Re: Quick taps, poor refereeing standards at top level

Mine are also minimal, but always include “we will never chat at a penalty against you, get your team back 10 and set to receive” - again, learnt the hard way in early games
  13. [Law] Re: Quick taps, poor refereeing standards at top level

    Agreed, I learnt that quickly!
  14. [Law] Re: Quick taps, poor refereeing standards at top level

I think the one I saw the ref was still talking / explaining to the players, I get this is the elite and the players should be more disciplined and back in place, but there’d be uproar if I’ve chosen...
  15. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

Have never considered a genuine PK at the posts when time is over, I think I would have blown for time as soon as the ball went over the DBL (scored or otherwise) and I think that would be the...
  16. Re: Return to Rugby in England, any experiences?

    1) I was encouraging them to take it back 5 if they want more space (Like Touch)
    2) For me if two players then we get quick calls of touch, then phase (two tackles), becomes part of the tactics as...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

Beat me to it, as variations for the current climate I think it’s sensible, and just wish they had pushed this as n option for the community game (who also have no testing protocol like the ladies),...

  19. Re: Return to Rugby in England, any experiences?

I’ve not had a competitive game but have been helping coach our 2nd team / Colts combo (L8) and played a few practice games. Main one for me is comms, especially if the players haven’t had much...

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

That looks spot on to me, only nitpick is wording, maybe "In the event of going uncontested do the team lose an *additional* player? - ie the carded player is the 'man off' they don't drop another...

I would like this, if I could! Anyone fancy making one of these for the community game? We have plenty of time ☹️
  23. Re: Thank God! At last Nigel Owens enforces (Caterpillar) Law - Use it

If everyone was bound properly, joining from the right direction, and playing the ball back to the waiting scrum half with their feet then I’d agree with you - what we see currently is a deliberate...

Bit of a joke regulation that one, happened to Newcastle Falcons last year, they had players they could draft in / loan but EPCR refused - I understand why the regulations are there, but common sense...
