Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

I don't think the community game is really impacted .
We have no replays, no TMO, few spectators, many of the people present will have had a worse view than the ref did, everyone knows the ref can...

this is true - but the converse is that for vast majority of incidents where previously we might have had different refs using diff judgement and arriving at diff decisions ..... now we have a very...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

but it also says 'the act of foul play was secondary' which seems to suggest it was foul play (but not RC)

tbh, though, I don't think we can analyse that statement too much - it doesn't make...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

    I get this
But when I have been to a tribunal (not often!) They start by asking if the player is guilty or not and insist on the answer beginning with No or Yes

    Then the process continues

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

But I think that would all go to mitigation and lower sanction

If the player accepts it is a RC offence, then a panel does not normally consider whether it really was, they just go straight to...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

if the player admits the charge, then I don't see how a panel can conclude 'no case to answer' who presented the case? why would the case be presented?

Normally if a player admits a charge, the...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

In pro rugby RC decisions are made by the framework, using the video, and don't really pay any attention to whether the victim is injured or not. It's not a factor, is it?

    plenty of RC given...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

people have talked about whether the French playere should be YC for simulating.

    Here's what the LAw says

    Unfair play

    A player must not:

Do anything that may lead the match officials to...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

    I wondered about that

What did the medics do then?
Sounds like they conducted some sort of assessment to see if he needed an assessment ?

I would like to see the protocol for that curious...

    Re: Global Law Trials

Some other oddities arising from the curious wording used in the laws

blue kick into red in goal
.. red ground ball = GLDO
.. red kick ball over DBL = 22mDO

Blue charge down a red clearance...

    Re: These goal line dropouts

5m scrums will still happen when
.. defenders knock on in goal (but not when attackers do)
.. defenders carry ball back in goal and make it dead in any way

Logic would suggest they would also be...

    Re: These goal line dropouts

But then why B where a goal line DO replaces a 22m DO ?
And also why haven't they replaced all 5m scrums ? We will still have them

This is what I mean, don't see their logic

    Re: Protocol awarding PT

OK but what do you reckon - would it be helpful to have a signal for a PT that you could give on the spot - without having to move away from the action ?

    These goal line dropouts

So they are puzzling me - hard to understand the logic of them

Play is restarted with a goal line drop-out when:

    A) The ball is played or taken into in-goal by an attacking player and is...

    Re: Global Law Trials

Its annoying that they have re-written Law 12 and STILL have left out the scenario of

Attacking player carries ball into the in goal, but then places foot over DBL or into TIG so ball is dead.

Well, obviously PT are rare, and then only a few PT lead to scuffles , (IE where it would be helpful for the referee to be present)
