Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

Bit of a joke regulation that one, happened to Newcastle Falcons last year, they had players they could draft in / loan but EPCR refused - I understand why the regulations are there, but common sense...

Re: How Long will He Likely be Banned for?

No, but I think you get my point, we're talking intent, which we don't know or have evidence of

Neither of which are clearly and obviously published in an accessible way to us, or anyone trying to find the correct answer, to the best of my knowledge

Re: How Long will He Likely be Banned for?

What do we mean by intentional?

    - 1) Intended to forearm smash an academy player in the head and knock him out?
    - 2) Intended to hit the player very hard, at ball carry height, doing so at pace...

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

Appreciate I’m talking to myself here, but this might be of interest to some, the equivalent to the man off logic tree that applies in the 23 man game, or at least the Premiership, so yes, different,...

Re: How Long will He Likely be Banned for?

Hands straight up, he knew instantly it had gone wrong and he was in trouble, and he waited at the touch line for the oppo to come off and apologise / shake hands

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

May have answered my own question about the elite game (https://laws.worldrugby.org/?domain=10&clarification_era=onward&clarlaw=3&clarification=1024) so this is correct, so am I still correct in RFU...

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

Am even more confused now, accept I was only half watching, but a reoccurrence in Harlequins vs Bath just now, Bath hooker goes to the bin (1 already there) so they are down to 13. Scrum called, no...

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

Yup, round here it’s 20 at L8 and 18 players below that, only require 1 FR replacement

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

Never come close in one of my games, I've argued that coaches should use them more tactically to rest / change in players to suit, but seems a lost concept to most at my level

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

Basically yes, current L3 logic tree is attached - and we’re not supposed to be using the phrase ‘man off’ any more either as it confuddles people apparently

Re: STE to hook, Wasps Bath

I think this was as simple as it was going to uncontested unless they had someone who was comfortable to hook, and a player was given the option - I don’t think there’s any rule that only nominated...

[In-goal] Re: Try: Yes or No? Or?

I don’t think so, I think he has to make a decision now - which until this incident I was a big fan of!

[In-goal] Re: Try: Yes or No? Or?

If the experts can’t use clear language to write the laws in their own time, under no pressure, not sure you can expect the officials to do any better in the heat of battle!

[In-goal] Re: Try: Yes or No? Or?

Without the TMO protocol I would say “no idea” and go with attacking scrum, however technically NO has awarded a try - so assume no doubt? - at that point it’s either try or clear and obvious reason...

[Tackle] Re: Dangerous tackle... or not

If I saw a players actions directly cause a knee to the head of another I’d be considering a sanction, certainly nothing against gold. It’s one of those crapppy one’s I have to explain every season...

    Re: Knock on ?

Expected decision - knock on, so that’s what I’m going with. I think it did go forward so that’ll do me. I get the technical arguments against, but, that way lies madness - and lengthy arguments on...

It's not a new claim, a quick google finds articles from as early as 2010, and Wikipedia links to a transcript from about the same time - basis being that in Devon it was traditional for their 1st...

[Mini/Midi] Re: Under 14s kicking to touch from a penalty

My county was one of the trial counties to NROP so maybe I've just been looking at this for longer, but the approach I've always taken as coach and ref is that the NROP is a variation, so you follow...
