[Law] Re: All blacks third try tackled or not?

Ok, I think we all agree that he was held and should have released the ball. however understandable close call at full speed by the team of three and fair to play on.
    Could the fourth...

[Law] All blacks third try tackled or not?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBPBA4cbBIQ
about 3.40 into this clip does anyone think caleb clarke was tackled?
    I do
  3. [Law] Quick taps, poor refereeing standards at top level

Only saw highlights but two tries were scored from quick taps in the Exeter v Bath game that were clearly not from the mark and the ref never saw them taken.
I'm all for speeding the game up but...
  4. Re: Return to Rugby in England, any experiences?

Thanks CHBG and Flish. Attended club training session and enjoyed it as did the players when we all got to grips with the rules.
    As you've said hard work.
Teams have unlimited subs, I won't have...
  5. Re: Return to Rugby in England, any experiences?

Sorry for the confusion, it is the Ready4Rugby game that Flish posted
  6. Return to Rugby in England, any experiences?

Looks like might have a game to ref in a few weeks under the Return to Rugby guidelines from the RFU.
It is likely to be competitive between my two local teams with local bragging rights at stake.....

[Line out] Re: Offside at LO - change in law?

Manage it, would be my first option, especially if both teams encroach. Peep and reset the line with a warning.
  8. Does anyone think the 20/21 season will start?

Given the new restrictions, it is looking increasingly unlikely in the UK and Ireland.
Could be the death of many clubs.

    [Maul] Re: Isn't this obstruction?

Bath try looks good, the following Wasps try in the link is clearly not the same maul.
Too much of this going on for me at the top level.
Top refs loudly shouting same maul regularly to justify...

[Law] Re: Why isn't this pre binding penalised ?

Looks wrong and probably is one the player picking the ball up from the ruck is not the last man. 15.11 Once a ruck has formed, no player may handle the ball unless they were able to get their hands...

Re: How Long will He Likely be Banned for?

https://twitter.com/i/status/1302231977987313664 A lot of hysteria on this, It's high tackle. he gets sent off, end of story.
Personal opinion, he gets it wrong going for the big hit and pays the...

[Tackle] Re: Dangerous tackle... or not

Not a chance of that happening Didds.
If that were the case , a lot of chasers jumping for the ball are clearly putting themselves in a dangerous position but that is completely ignored

    Re: Knock on ?

Without replays in one of my games, easy sell, knock on.
But in slomo for me, whilst red is bobbling the ball he is in possession and liable to be tackled.
He doesn't knock it forward over a black...

Re: Ball touch the player and go forward

If it hasn't touched the hand or arm then it is play on.
At the lower levels of the game white player in front would be offside but probably would be accidental offside and a scrum to the non...

Re: accidentally taking a free kick

For me it is play on and would be the same in rugby of either code. Tough if you don't know the laws.

    Re: cross code "test"

I wonder which half would have more kicking?
I watch both codes and it seems at least 50% of RL tries are scored from kicks :-)
Is that not kick and clap ;-)

[Law] Re: Lifters lift a teammate to block a PK

It is banned by law but I don't see any difference to this and lifting to catch kick offs and restarts.
Basically that is creating an unfair contest and should also be banned.

  20. Re: Crowds to return for opening round of Super Rugby Aotearoa

I understand sports selling out to pay per view but for me it always has a detrimental effect on crowds and interest in the general game.

    Re: Super rugby law trials

    My 2 penneth
    1. I like it. Law makers obviously trying to get rid of top level scrums which kill the game as a spectical. not too much of a problem in the weeds

    2. Disagree with this. We have the...
  22. [Law] Re: World Rugby approves law trials to reduce coronavirus risk

[Line out] Re: new boy questions round 3

your assumption on 18.11 18 is correct.
When you see 2 from each team at the line, call Line is formed then they can't throw a quick one.
Remember if a kick chaser runs up to the line of touch and...

Assistant referees! I'm lucky if I get them once a season.
Personally I mark the defending Line for 2 reasons.
    1. Attacking teams are unlikely to want to close the gap themselves so they can set...

[Law] Re: new boy questions round 2

Don't worry about failing the exam Andrew, most of the players don't know this obscure laws anyway. Blow your whistle, make a confident decision and crack on:hap:
