    Re: Seat-belt tackle now legal?

It's in the Elite level guidelines, no?
  2. Re: Players told to respect referees as abuse soars

I told a captain yesterday evening that if his coach said one more word, two things were going to happen - I'd file a Code of Conduct charge, and I'd get in my car. The second half was blissfully...

  4. Re: Wal v Aus: Coach Verbally Attacks Officials

This came up this evening in my game.

We’re inside Red 22 as Blue attack and put in a little chip. Red and Blue both contest it, and I’m happy Red played it back. Everybody stopped except one Blue...
  5. Re: Wal v Aus: Coach Verbally Attacks Officials

I don’t understand your logic flow.

If you had stopped the game incorrectly, you would have denied a legal try.
  6. Re: Wal v Aus: Coach Verbally Attacks Officials

Normal service has resumed. I cannot disagree with this more strongly.

Knock on would have been wrong and denied the score. Let's now make this, for example, a WC semi final and not just an...

Alice Springs. Total population is under 28,000. Nowhere in town is more than 12 minutes drive away. Next town North is a 5 hour drive, West is over a day, south is over....you get the picture....

    Re: Colours?

Each club has their own watering hole.

I live a quiet respectable life and don't go out Fridays. Or Saturdays. Or any other nights. I like my car staying intact.

    Re: Scotland's first try

I prefer to sit back and think that, much as the Russian Linesman in '66 had a two word phrase ("remember Stalingrad"), Romain just went *gallicshrug* "eh, not C&O, Auld Alliance"

Jesus. That's the voice of a man who hasn't seen much of Michael Hooper. Or indeed listened to him much in the game. Romain had a constant temperature check on how Hooper was feeling for the full...

    Re: Wales v AllBlacks

You lower your head like, and I just stand stock still, making no attempt to tackle, you're going to hurt yourself. Abs of steel, me!
  19. [Law] Re: Ball kicked hits overhanging tree branch and falls back onto pitch

There are prerequisites we can't avoid.
We have unlimited replacements here and a mandated water break, because rugby in the NT in summer is brutal.

    Re: Wales v AllBlacks

There's a difference between "bracing for impact" and lowering your head like this.

In fact I would argue that the head lowering is the worst kind of bracing I can imagine.

[Ruck] Re: Am I Jackaling Legally? (Confused Player)

At your level, the off feet looked right, and the hands in was a judgement call.

I couldn't really follow the other clips.

Am I misremembering, but wasn't there evidence that this actually increased the injury rate among tacklers?

I'm Ok with local rules prevailing. (Etymology fans will be glad to know that's how we actually get the phrase 'ground rules')
