  10. [7's/10's] Re: What is the definition of the playing a ball in the scrum?

[Law] Re: Incorrectly taken free kick

AIUI its to discourage aimless kicking that has no real purpose or thought etc ... so a kicm that can be caught because it goes near an opponent is (the theory says) a poor kick so it cannot "win"...

Re: Wal v Aus: Coach Verbally Attacks Officials

    agree with dave.

what about the kick to head you didnt see but got told about by the side whose player was "kicked in the head". Do you send off their devastatingly brilliant #7 that theyve...

Re: Eng v SA: Kholisi YC

    thats the theory.

This is a FK which will be clearlky being kicked to touch. What defensive line do you need? especially with the eg 8,9 involved who wont typically be in a set line. True the...

Re: Eng v SA: Kholisi YC

Thats a fair comment. Though of course the kick would have to bounce into touch and thus evade any defenders lined along the touchline to cover that (winger, number 8, scrumhalf is probably...

    absolutey 100% spot on.

tactically as an award to the non offendoing side they are only really of any use in one's own 22 where they can be leared directly to touch.

    Everywhere else the only...

This. and his coaches that presumably allowed him to do it unchecked. Unless of course theyd tried and he chose to ignore them (being fair all round!)

Except that isn't the case here. The lawmakers clearly never considered anything than a catch, land and drive on the catcher. Here we have an offload "within the lineout" to an undefended space,...
