I know stills can be deceptive but it looks like a tackle to me. Knee on ground and tackler in contact.

Although in real time I'd possibly allow play on. But I think that it would be an...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

that's not how I'd ref it. FK is just a covid-safe alternate to a scrum so I'd allow defence to organise in same way as a scrum.

But what about a drop goal? A DG can be taken straight from a...

[In-goal] Re: Peter O'Mahony Yellow Card

OK. I see where you're coming from.

In the document you have referred to they have erroneously used the word 'foul' when what they really mean is 'dangerous'.

But I suspect you know that. :)

  9. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

as long as you can live with the risk of the ball not going dead (falling short, hitting woodwork, etc)
  10. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

yeah, and they're upgrading him to whistle duty next week

  12. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

    works for me.

PS: did you enjoy the Test?
  13. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

    From Law 5:

A half ends when the ball becomes dead after time has expired unless:
A penalty is kicked directly to touch without the ball first being tapped and without the ball touching another...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

that's not going to reduce scrums by 75%.

I think what it means is that the act of knocking the ball on creates enough disadvantage on its own, so play on for all knock ons.

[Line out] Re: Offside at LO - change in law?

could be interesting. Hooker throws in, backs sprint up. Before they have a chance to retire, ball is tapped back by lineout jumper to SH. Lineout is now over so offside line is the ball

Is saying "use that please" the same as "use it" to a non-English speaking player?

  21. Re: Thank God! At last Nigel Owens enforces (Caterpillar) Law - Use it

Here's the nub. What does "play the ball" mean?
  22. Re: Thank God! At last Nigel Owens enforces (Caterpillar) Law - Use it

The 'use it' instruction was introduced to stop a team winding down the clock by holding the ball stationery at the back of a ruck with nothing happening.

My view is that a team bringing more...
  23. Re: Does anyone think the 20/21 season will start?

    None at all in Melbourne.

For the first (and probably last) time the AFL Grand Final will be played in Brisbane. This is akin to Wimbledon being played at the Blundellsands Lawn Tennis Club in...
