  1. Re: Premiership relegation set to be suspended

    Great post
    Thanks
  2. Re: Premiership relegation set to be suspended

the Premiership is owned by the 12 clubs currently in it + Saracens

  3. [Tackle] Re: Head clash, with force, "accidental" = no card? women's 6N

for me - under current guidelines - that looks like a card
  4. Re: Premiership relegation set to be suspended

    and, indeed, the RFU!

no doubt also the reason that lots of corporate sports and social clubs are/were in SW london
  5. Re: Premiership relegation set to be suspended

    Other factors
The premiership is owned by 13 clubs so it makes no sense having a league of 12

Pro 14 and the French league have 14 members so it will help with calendar synchronisation if...

    [Law] Re: Neverending rugby?

I have done it twice (I think).
My memory is that - on both occasions - the team awarded the PK were so confused they took the kick as if it was a normal restart.

It's very rare isn't it. If...

    [Law] Re: Clarification 1 "021

we have been through this a few times -- you can't have scrums, mauls, rucks or tackle in the in-goal, so the offside lines that normally form from those all disappear as the ball goes into in goal,...

yes - although that seems to be exactly what happens in elite rugby where the touchline official seem to let a player on without fanfare or warning (presumably they let the ref know in his earpiece)...

i wish the RFU would develop game management gudielines, I think they are a great idea to prodcue consistency withn the Laws.

This grey area is a great example of how GMG could be useful, by...

    [Law] Re: Clarification 1 "021

the WR clarification is not even useful at elite level because - AIUI - players come on and off the field supervised by the officials, not by the ref. The ref is just told.

    [Law] Re: Clarification 1 "021

yes - you need to balance the non-offending team's right to go quickly, with the YC player's right to come back on.

    scenario
    - blue have a player in the bin, 11 mins gone
    - you award PK to Red...

i agree - I remember going to a talk with Wayne Barnes once - I think the quesiton was about bringing a player back on while the QTI was still a possibility - and he said something like: presumably...

well that's the nub of this isn't it -- when you blow whistle for PK ball is still alive (as they can quick tap). The ball only goes properly dead (for a replacement) when you say it's dead.

    [Law] Re: Clarification 1 "021

that's an interesting one, though. If they think for 15s and then ask to make a substitution, you'll say yes and stop the clock at 10.05. And then they say - while we are doing the replacement, can...

    [In-goal] Re: 6.11.A

these things are so rare anyway- I can't remember ever colliding with a player in goal.

It's hard to think how it would most likely happen?

    [In-goal] Re: 6.11.A

I think it means you treat it as if the defending player had touched down - so if brought into in goal by attackers = 22m DO, if by the defenders = 5m scrum

For me it's the same: I would let them make a replacement (and then , of course , so can blue)

  23. Re: Match Official Developer App - your input please

    agreed. It's tricky.

but as a start up, in a market where there is no incumbent, isn't the battle won by the app that gets the most installs?
    then monetise afterwards.

    So perhaps a product...
