    [Law] Re: France v England - 30/4/2021

Why did you delete my post? It was informative and explained when mitigation can be used and when it shouldn't be used.

Yes I gave my opinion but isn't that what forums are for?

Mitigation does not apply for intentional or highly reckless acts of foul play

    Re: Conflicts of interest

I couldn't agree more with this, we have a small pool of refs and clubs and guys refereeing their own clubs will always happen. It's actually a great step in the development of a referee to see how...

[Ruck] Re: Picking the ball up from the ruck

I agree that it's fine, both feet behind the ball so play on all day. Apart from what what he does not being illegal If you look at it contextually why would you give a penalty, he has in no way...

[RWC] Re: How are the RWC refs doing so far ?

Can you back up the statement you are making here? To me is seems like you are making assumptions?

From what I know elite level referees do a huge amount of video analysis when both reviewing...

[Law] Re: Penalty at end of game

My take on it is If the ball bounces in play and then goes out, the game has successfully restarted before into touch and therefore time is up

    [Law] Re: NO advantage call

I agree with all the game management comments above and if Ireland were about to give away a penalty it's good refereeing, however I don't see a C&O penalty in their by Ireland.

    [Law] Re: NO advantage call

My problem with is that England get to clear the ball without the pressure of having a scrum. Advantage does not give you the right to play the ball as you wish without interference from the...

    [Law] Re: NO advantage call

I also noticed and felt that it was too much management from Owens, England then benefited from making a good exit without any pressure.

    Re: Samoa v USA

I disagree, good timing is everything in rugby. We wouldn't penalise someone who tackles a player who has just landed because half a second earlier we will have a tackle in the air.

No problem with the penalty or YC but why has the ref waited so long to blow for the unplayable maul? The ball is clearly never going to come out and as a ref we should be aware if we allow...

    Re: Why no red card?

World Rugby Guidelines dictate it to be a red card if a player lands on their shoulder. Here is an exert from the RA Game Management Guidelines 2019:

    [Ruck] Re: Off side mark

I agree, give it to the offside that is material. If the pillar and the far winger are offside I won't be offering a PK out on the far wing.

Why on earth, when you have a qualified referee available to use as an AR would you not avail of it? Can anyone come up with a good reason?

    Re: Nigel in action

This is a reason why banter should be kept to a minimum so the players don't get too comfortable with the ref and start using language which inadvertently becomes disrespectful.

[INTERNATIONAL] Re: Scotland vs SA - LO try
