    Re: These goal line dropouts

Stu, you will have realised that the 'society' ref had not read up on his RFU Under 14 Regs (Reg 15 Appendix 8), which are actually a very good description of hos the game is to be played, presumably...

    Re: These goal line dropouts

1- Not below Under 15 Regulations in RFU. (So that's Under 16 age group until 31 Dec.)

2.Yes - the 'sanction line' is the 5m. (For 22DO the sanction line is the 22.)

    Re: an idea from her-indoors

Some matches last just over 80 minutes of playing time; some last much more until the ball is dead without a PK or FK. So your inconsistency is consistent.

[Law] Re: "Why the **** did you do that?"

The first offence, I hope, is a knock-on when the SH put the ball back in the scrum. Alternatively, in some people's English, the SH has brought the ball back into the scrum, so it is a FK.

    All...

    [Law] Re: Age Grade Variations

Jz558, your details do not state which Society membership you hold. Presumably within RFU?

    Re: Line out maul

There has been some discussion elsewhere that it does not apply after a line-out. The Law definition of a Flying Wedge states, in the usual WR form: An illegal type of attack, which usually happens...

[Law] Re: Can you have a quick goal line drop out?

    Good fitness!

The easy one - the GLDO has to cross the 5m line ('the sanction line'). Thus it may have to travel more than 5m to achieve that if not kicked directly up the field.

    Normal...

It was linked in a recent weekly update. Not at all clear for when it applies, but the document title has a bit of a clue:

[Line out] Re: Asking for Numbers

How would you square a 4-man line-out with "if you don't tell me your LO numbers I'll assume it's a full LO"? You would be the only person on the pitch in step.

The Law states "in in-goal" not "into in-goal". The Blues-Stormers video shows that the ball was probably over the GL when the Blues player lost control of it (reverse camera angle). Fair call for...

[Law] Re: 50/22 from a FK

No other line (across the pitch) for 17m in one direction, ideally 18m in the other, but of course sometimes as little as 10-12m, as opposed to 3 lines within 20m.

It helps if the 10m lines are...

[Law] Re: 50/22 from a FK

I prefer people to think through the arguments, rather than blindly following others without understanding why.

I will treat the opportunity for 50:22 the same as I do for a 22 gain-in-ground.

[Law] Re: 50/22 from a FK
