Re: Where are you this weekend - 2021/22?

Keswick V Rochdale L 7 both teams unbeaten so far, should be a good one.

    Re: thoughts on this one

Ahem, Tim, falls over more especially in windy Cumbria, You should know that:smile:.
Now then should we have the debate about allowing the "Trumpet bringer on" to hold the ball rather than a player...

    Re: Line out maul

That is a really badly written law. "providing they keep moving"! what does that mean? They can't stand still? I guess it is written on the assumption that one player will take up the traditional...

That link doesn't work in NH but the game can be searched on you tube.
It is a grey area of Law that perhaps needs clarification.

  5. Re: 2 incidents - Wallabies v Springboks 18/9/21

Second one clear red, 1st one could be red but can't see that being taken any further. nothing clear and obvious.

[Law] Re: Can you have a quick goal line drop out?

Agree not Kurt The second tap can be anywhere directly behind as long as the ref sees you take it which is usually the problem.

    Re: These goal line dropouts

    Had a classic Saturday.
Attacker drops ball in act of scoring so GLDO.
Defender spots his winger is wide open on the other flank so attempts a quick one but assumes, RL style it has to be taken...

    Re: Rugby 12s

    It's not a new Idea!
My club used to run a 12s tournament every pre-season back in the days when the English 15s season ran from Sept 1st to April 30th.
I think that changed when league rugby was...

[Law] Can you have a quick goal line drop out?

Had this scenario yesterday. After my first game, I refereed the second half of a lower grade game that had no appointed ref.
Red v Black. Red generally young and inexperienced, black, good mix of...

Thanks Dickie E. No chance I'll remember all that for my first game Saturday but I'm sure if I get it wrong there will be numerous options suggested from the touchline:)

    22 drop out

Just to clear my mind, assume you can only have a 22 drop out these days if there is an attempt at goal or drop goal that is touched down/made dead by the defending team?

Let's be clear, Barrett, (and many others over the years) put himself in that position where he was recklessly out of control.

Re: Charity Game with scrums and new laws!

I can't see the point of telling players taken back if a 50/22 is attempted.
Just wait for the outcome and if they make touch give the line accordingly
