Re: Eng v SA: Kholisi YC

But isn't that the whole point of the 50/22?
They have to drop more men back to cover the 50/22 so leaving less in the defensive line and a numerical advantage if the attackers tap and go?

Re: Eng v SA: Kholisi YC

You missed out the new option of a 50/22 (if in your own half)

    Does that change the dynamics?

Re: Eng v SA: Kholisi YC

Yep, saw that and thought straight away, he's off. Was amazed they never reviewed it.
I thought the ref had an overall good game, but there were a few "none-decisions" from the TO3 that had me...

[Kit] Re: Smart Watch App for Refs?

Just takes a few seconds to add the score as we make our way back to the half way line to restart after a score.

Penalty count is easy, you just tap the team and its adds a penalty to their side,...

[Law] Re: Competing in the Air

Welcome to the forum, but I have to take exception to the sentence above.
It's the players decisions that determine the outcome of the game not the referees.
Both parties will make mistakes and...

  8. Re: So when is Rassie Erasmus gong to get sanctioned for coaching on the field?

Presumably WR asked him for a victim impact statement?
Replying "I'm fine" wouldn't have helped anyone.

    Re: Colours?

I think it stems from Referees being in short supply and games being called off for one reason or another, but no one takes the responsibility to tell the ref, who by the time he finds out is too...

Re: Tactical replacement cannot kick at goal !!

I have definitely read somewhere that if a player goes off due to foul play or an HIA then the team don't get penalised by lack of subs, or having to lose a man if going uncontested.

    I would treat...

    Re: Scotland's first try

You replied to OB that you are aware of the Lawbook, but then keep asking questions that are covered in the Lawbook?

    i.e.

    Re: Scotland's first try

The answers to most of your questions are in the definitions.

Lineout: A lineout is a set piece consisting of a line of at least two players from each team waiting to receive a throw from touch.

It's an RFU regulation that the home team must confirm the game with the referee.

[Law] Re: Incorrectly taken free kick

Taking a tap correctly is a skill that needs to be learnt.
If you let them get away with doing it incorrectly they won't learn.

However, depending on the age I might just bring them back to do it...

The referee calls the ball out, so the player going for the ball is fine.
However the shoulder barge to the lower leg is dangerous play for me.

Re: England v Australia - TMO call

You stick your flag in to signal Foul Play, so a Law 9 offence.
However the referee may tell you that he only wants to see a flag in the event of a card worthy event.

No confirmation the game is on (by phone, text or email) means no ref.

[Kit] Re: Smart Watch App for Refs?
