    Re: Cards

Many sports stores/websites will have them. Same as used for football (if not other sports).

They usually come in a plastic wallet, in which I leave them (until required). Some referees do keep...
  2. [7's/10's] Re: What is the definition of the playing a ball in the scrum?

The oppo may start the movement that would result in the SH being clobbered if he still had the ball at that stage.

That's in open play, not from a set piece.

[Law] Re: Incorrectly taken free kick

But we don't end the game on an incorrectly taken re-start, nor a line-out not thrown straight, or do we?

Re: Tactical replacement cannot kick at goal !!

The aim is surely to prevent the tactical rolling substitution of bringing on a specialist kicker for a PK, or conversion; and then being able to roll him off again. If it is a forced replacement...

    Re: Wales v AllBlacks

Which is why ball carriers are supposed to remain upright?

Is the intent to enable more 'evasive' rugby?

I haven't yet had to referee it (after all there are only 1200 games across England),...

    Re: Wales v AllBlacks

This reminds me that there is a limited (1200 matches or so) trial in English colleges' (under 19) of a navel maximum tackle height - and ball carriers are not allowed to dip or change their running...

  14. [Law] Re: Ball kicked hits overhanging tree branch and falls back onto pitch

Branches overhang the Ellingham & Ringwood 2nd pitch by c 5m. Ball always deemed to be out of play when it hits them, going back seasons and seasons.

Then had it occur on a school's pitch this...

  18. [Ruck] Re: You're not now allowed to crocodile roll? Really?

[In-goal] Re: Goal line DO vs Scrum 5

If that is your definition of consistency ...

It is certainly not wholly consistent, and thus can lead, as so amply shown by Decorily, to an incorrect conclusion and possibly decision.

[In-goal] Re: Goal line DO vs Scrum 5

Congratulations World Rugby! Laws 12.12a and 21.16 are not consistent.

Given that 12.12a as written can be considered as a sub-set of 21.16, and does not state 'an attacking player only', and...

[In-goal] Re: Goal line DO vs Scrum 5

The maul has ended successfully by going into In Goal and ceasing to be a maul. So the judgement moves onto when it is successfully 'held up'.
