    [Law] Re: substituicion

I think 3.33 really refers to the system used in internationals, where a player once substituted is not normally allowed to return to the pitch. Exception being blood, head, front row , foul play

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

i don't understand why grass-roots rugby can't restart using the same variations.

AIUI the elite women have no special testing regime or anything like that to enable them to play those variations.

    Somewhat defensively
    And somewhat confusingly.

Apparently it wasn't a ruck it was a tackle , although he seems to be quoting the laws that apply to a ruck

    And when he...

the Law Book needs some attention

15.4 Each team has an offside line that runs parallel to the goal line through the hindmost point of any ruck participant. If that point is on or behind the goal...

    Re: Exeter Racing .. Slade

the whole sequence had me watching through my fingers, it was awful.

it's the time on the clock when the ball is struck that matters -- but it had all gone pear shaped long before that. 'put the...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

so basically the variation is to award a FK instead of a scrum.

Can they quick tap ? In the scenario of the #15 dropping a kick .. if the oppo could get there first, FK tap and go -- that's a...

Re: Pro Womens - Covid laws

there must be some fuller Law Variations that lay out exactly what is being played. I can't believe that's all they have, surely ?

[In-goal] Re: Peter O'Mahony Yellow Card

Law 9 would be Foul Play
Law 10 would be Dangerous Play

all the Laws following would be re-numbered

The Law numbering would be back to how it should be ....

    I like it

[In-goal] Re: Peter O'Mahony Yellow Card

I don't know what you would do, given the offence was only a YC on and the table shows sanctions for RC offences

[In-goal] Re: Peter O'Mahony Yellow Card

Which is a bit odd, because the sanction table is for an offence meriting a RC. For a offence that only merited a YC the table wouldnt work, yeilding zero

  22. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

it's quite an arcane point, I don't think it matters that much if we are consistent, as few are likely to see it in practice :-)

At community level teams usually double check with me before...
  23. [Law] Re: Quick taps, poor refereeing standards at top level

i hardly say anything at pre-match briefing - but i do say that 'you can ask me question if my decision not clear, but NOT just after I have awarded a PK, and they are about to quick tap it'
  24. [Law] Re: Does half-time end if PK is kicked dead ? Exeter v Bath

It's in the definitions (and used consistently)

.Kicked directly into touch: The ball is kicked into touch without first landing on the
playing area or touching a player or the referee.

[In-goal] Re: Peter O'Mahony Yellow Card

    perfect, thanks :-)

I would note that in London, hearings take place on the Monday, 9 days after the card - so the player will have already served, effectively, a week
