that was my polite way of saying it's not really an issue at all :)

    Re: Penalty Try

WADR I'd suggest this is not rugby's biggest issue. PTs are quite infrequent

    Re: Penalty Try

fair enough for showbiz rugby with TMOs, citing chappies and the like. In the weeds, best do as others have suggested IMO

    [Law] Re: England v France - 24/4/2921

wow. That's why I asked the question. We've just been given the 2020 law book (which I was looking at) and already it's out of date. :holysheep:

I've had 2 instances already this season where ball...
  6. [Law] Re: When and why the intentional knock-on rule was added to the rugby laws?

Absolutely. And it would make little sense to change laws cos one community level ref got it wrong.

    [Law] Re: England v France - 24/4/2921

Genuine question. Can you give me a law reference for that?

  11. [Law] Re: When and why the intentional knock-on rule was added to the rugby laws?

OK. SH passes the ball to #10 at an angle of 45 degrees. It's not a great pass and the best the #10 can do is get a finger tip to the ball such that the ball is deflected as shown in this diagram....
  12. [Law] Re: When and why the intentional knock-on rule was added to the rugby laws?

Interesting. Does it need to? Or does changing the flight of the ball so that it is going "more forwards" meet requirements?

    Definition here for reference:

    Knock-on: When a player loses...

[Kit] Re: Ref's shorts with back pocket?

I've never seen ref shorts with a back pocket noting that that doesn't mean that they don't exist.
  14. [Law] Re: When and why the intentional knock-on rule was added to the rugby laws?

card & PT OK for me. Blue #15 was never in a position to realistically catch the ball and just stuck out his hand.

    [Law] Re: Law variations

I understand the logic of your thought but I've never seen that happen here. There is an obvious risk in pulling a ball carrying attacking player into in goal ... it might actually assist...

if the Blue kicker hadn't got straight back up it might have been a different outcome
  19. [Law] Re: Maul caught from a kick. How to restart after this one ?

The key question is : has the maul ended successfully or unsuccessfully?

Once a maul moves into in goal it has ended successfully and the "use it or lose it" doesn't apply.

    So, as others have...

I quite like the goal line drop out. Gets the ball into general play very quickly.

    wheeling scrums

During the game on Saturday I had maybe half a dozen resets for scrum wheeling through 90 degrees which is quite a lot.

My perception was that both loose heads were stronger than both tight heads...
  25. [Tackle] Re: Head clash, with force, "accidental" = no card? women's 6N

maybe the attempted wrap takes it from "reckless" (unguided missile with no consideration for outcome) to "careless" (got timing wrong)
