    Re: Rugby 12s

I think people have missed the real point of the 12s

    it's like the IPL
    - assemble the best players in the world for an auction
    - the "teams" or franchises bid for them
    - each team is like a...

    Rugby 12s

So what do we think of the new rugby 12s then ?
Innovative and exciting idea that will bring IPL style glamour and excitement to our sport ?

Or a totally unwelcome threat to the sport we love ?

yes. If you follow as a rule of thumb: boot to the face = RC, I don't think you'll go far wrong with the disciplinary panel, or indeed with the players on the field around you (or even with the...

[Law] Re: Can you have a quick goal line drop out?

this was discussed at our society meeting

    - a GLD do is like a 22m , it can be taken quickly

    - but in the first couple of games may be sensible to slow things down as people will be confused...

    that's my view

if an egregious act of violence creates a one sided game, then I have no sympathy : don't commit egregious acts of violence.

but when what is basically an accident (insufficient...

[Line out] Re: Asking for Numbers

Blue are in control of this scenario --- the only reason I can think of that they would proceed to throw in, would be to win a FK (which seems rather unlikely as a FK is pretty rubbish).

    but if...

[Line out] Re: Asking for Numbers

It rather depends how quickly they throw in. They are not obliged to leave the opponents time to adjust numbers. If they don't leave (enough) time, then you don't ping.

Interesting that "intent" is now back in the equation.

Second time recently RC rescinded for lack of intent, isn't it?

Intent rather than outcome is a big change

    Re: 22 drop out

that scenario (and various similar) has been missing from the Law Book for years.

it's not covered by the GLT, so would be carry on as normal. Which means, presumably, a 22m DO as stated in the...
