  1. [Maul] Re: When is a flying wedge a maul...a maul a flying wedge....or....?

I am sure there was a situation like this over the weekend and the Referee shouted "Break Away".
    Can't remember which game though?
  2. [Ruck] Re: You're not now allowed to crocodile roll? Really?

He turns to face his own goal line and then passes it backwards to a mate, which is of course actually forwards
  4. [Maul] Re: When is a flying wedge a maul...a maul a flying wedge....or....?

If the ball carrier moves forward with teammates bound to him on either side, what else would you call it?

[In-goal] Re: Goal line DO vs Scrum 5

I notice you are in the USA, they sometimes interpret things differently to the rest of the world.

The logical thing would be to treat it the same as a knock on, because this is what you would do...

    a. Allow opponents who are not on the ground to play or gain possession of the ball.
    b. Not play the ball.
    c. Not...
  7. [Maul] Re: When is a flying wedge a maul...a maul a flying wedge....or....?

Correct me if I am wrong but USA Rugby have some different and interesting definitions to the rest of the rugby world.

There is a discussion online at the moment (USR Referees Facebook page)...

As mentioned that law applies if it's been grounded, but you're not sure who by.

[In-goal] Re: Goal line DO vs Scrum 5

My understanding is that the RFU are discussing if a Society clarification is required.
There is always the possibility that they decide it's not a big deal and doesn't require clarification.
    It's...

[In-goal] Re: Goal line DO vs Scrum 5

If you see it held up its a GLD.

If your not sure, or can't see it has to be a GLD.

There is no basis in law for a scrum 5 in these circumstances, unless the...

What refs should be looking for in order is:
    1. Tackler releases and moves away from the tackles player to allow...
    2. Ball carrier must make the ball available by placing or passing the ball.......

[Ruck] Re: Am I Jackaling Legally? (Confused Player)
