    Re: Springboks v Lions

I think the TMO would have supported the on field decision (whatever it was)

    Re: Springboks v Lions

well I am not 100% sure, but I understand 21.1.b is for a ball that is ON the ground, while 21.1.a is for when a player has the ball and touches the ground with it ..

    so it was a 21,1.a...

    Re: Springboks v Lions

I think that would count as 'control' so if he DID have continuous pressure all the way to the ground then it would be a try .

BUT acting as TMO I wasn't sure that he did have continuous pressure...

    Re: Global Law Trials

The answer to that scenario has been missing from the Law Book since 2017!

. It's a shame they didn't fix that omission as part of this trial

What is the answer ? I would suggest a 22m DO , as...

    Re: Springboks v Lions

WR made a massive error, and it's totally unfair to MJ.

They have Mathieu Raynal and Ben Okeef both there, as they are reffing #2 and #3 - one of them should be TMO, and somone else come in as AR.

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

TMO isnt about C&O (when it is
    C&O you don't need aTMO )

TMO is like hawk eye, it's endeavouring to be precisely correct . Toenail in touch is touch, a tiny bit offside is offside

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

I don't think the community game is really impacted .
We have no replays, no TMO, few spectators, many of the people present will have had a worse view than the ref did, everyone knows the ref can...

this is true - but the converse is that for vast majority of incidents where previously we might have had different refs using diff judgement and arriving at diff decisions ..... now we have a very...

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

but it also says 'the act of foul play was secondary' which seems to suggest it was foul play (but not RC)

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

    I get this
But when I have been to a tribunal (not often!) They start by asking if the player is guilty or not and insist on the answer beginning with No or Yes

    Then the process continues

Re: That's done it for me. Goodbye rugby I'm out

In pro rugby RC decisions are made by the framework, using the video, and don't really pay any attention to whether the victim is injured or not. It's not a factor, is it?
