is that sepcifically the 10, or any person that may have been the goal kicker ? and if it happens in the firsrt minute,, how does the ref at community level 2know" who the goal kicker is?
Im not...
^^ what he said.
well, there shoudnt be one unless it is all but instantaneous. thats my point. Once the PT offense has occurred that is it. Not waiting to see what happens afterwards which may or may not end up...
quite. I think that says everything you need to know about his advice.
Here's another. ball in care's hands, as he starts to play to the left. PT straight under the posts. No waiting to see if Quinns will take 40 phases to score elsewhere.
...
First hit on google for "penalty try award youtube"
assuming NO fits the bill as a "quality ref" whatever that really means.
Straight under the posts blowing the whistle as the ball is still...

After 45 years or so involvement in RU as a player, coach, very occassional (and crap!) ref, blazer and supporter across grass roots to elite, Ive never ever been aware of any unwritten...
Exactly

Very true CR. I don't even remember when it became ref controlled now... i can just recall doing both but cant think of a definitive time when end of one season we did our own thing and the start of...
the point made is that when the ball is dead in some situations the side with the ball decide when it is live.
In fact it seems more often than not... even at a lineout ie nota QTI the side...
Nah. by the time green gets to 4 and 5 the ball is WAY aways, well past the end of the wall.
Its no different than a cut out pass in front of 12 rto 13 that attracts a defender onto 12 anyway....
Id imagine its because a kick for a lineout provides your own throw.

That must be it - that pretty much describes what I saw. Tx.
cue props falling on the floor holding a knee when "needed to".
I would have no problem with that. But as soon as the s/half looked towards the centre, saw the alzy runner, then broke wide the other way why wouldnt the ref blow for PT immediately? why would he...
But if the ref has only stuck an arm out for PK advantage, he isnt thinking PT? Cos if he weas he would already have run under the posts?

I saw the RL game before the Swinton one with Gavin Henson, aged 39, making his RL debut with West Wales Raiders (or somesuch) v Wigan.
