They don't guarantee consistency, but they must improve it
yes - although that seems to be exactly what happens in elite rugby where the touchline official seem to let a player on without fanfare or warning (presumably they let the ref know in his earpiece)...
i wish the RFU would develop game management gudielines, I think they are a great idea to prodcue consistency withn the Laws.
This grey area is a great example of how GMG could be useful, by...
the WR clarification is not even useful at elite level because - AIUI - players come on and off the field supervised by the officials, not by the ref. The ref is just told.
yes - you need to balance the non-offending team's right to go quickly, with the YC player's right to come back on.
scenario
- blue have a player in the bin, 11 mins gone
- you award PK to Red...
i agree - I remember going to a talk with Wayne Barnes once - I think the quesiton was about bringing a player back on while the QTI was still a possibility - and he said something like: presumably...
well that's the nub of this isn't it -- when you blow whistle for PK ball is still alive (as they can quick tap). The ball only goes properly dead (for a replacement) when you say it's dead.
bet that hurt !
that's an interesting one, though. If they think for 15s and then ask to make a substitution, you'll say yes and stop the clock at 10.05. And then they say - while we are doing the replacement, can...
these things are so rare anyway- I can't remember ever colliding with a player in goal.
It's hard to think how it would most likely happen?
I think it means you treat it as if the defending player had touched down - so if brought into in goal by attackers = 22m DO, if by the defenders = 5m scrum
For me it's the same: I would let them make a replacement (and then , of course , so can blue)
again I wouldn't be asking them what they are going to do (can't see the point seeing as they are...
sounds really promising. I would like to have a go with that.
Yes.
I feel sure there was some guidance on this, but I can't find it..so
agreed. It's tricky.
but as a start up, in a market where there is no incumbent, isn't the battle won by the app that gets the most installs?
then monetise afterwards.
So perhaps a product...
I dunno, but I think I would use my common sense/instinct and would trust the captain. Especially if it is indeed the 10.
and anyway - if it was the first few minutes of the game how likely is it...
well I wouldn't rule it out, but I can't think of any situations where it's relevant.
and there is a downside.
- perhaps he is watching the oppo and deliberately trying to keep his options...
another thing that occurs to me : is the app very customisable, so that each user can configure how they like it? Different screens, differetn options, layouts? That would mitigate against sharing...
Who is your customer, the individual or the society?
If it's the society I think you want a structure that gets your app on everyone's device, before a competitors app does.
If you are...
i think a lot of people are missing the important point here : if you have an injured player & physio on the pitch then the moment the ball comes near them you must stop the game, for safety.
going back to the app - I would certainly be interested in using an app to watch.
I have concerns over using a tablet in wet weather......
I think a big attraction to me would be to dictate...
interesting - we get free shirts, but generally buy the rest. (although you can earn credits)
I paid for my own shorts, socks, boots, whistles, flags (I lose a set of flags every season I...
I would allow YC back on for all of those (and because I have stopped the game for that, I'd let both teams make subs as well if they wanted)
(D) = "Don't be scared, Jonny" - any time when you...
interesting, my instinct would be that assessors would choose the app they like best (or no app at all) and buy it themselves (just like you buy your own whistle, boots, flags etc).
(Of course...
how much does the app cost? presumably £100 would buy quite a few copies ?
