    what might be more effective, probably would be to do something eye catching ..

    eg instead of charging forward, the defending team could
    -- skip forwards
    -- hop forwards
    -- do the macarena
    ...

    I think there are only two possible approaches to this

    1 ban charging
    2 referee signals when to charge

    And watching that one it has to be
    1 ban charging

    Anything else is just a referee...

    the other way round (wearing your own shirt on a society game) is not a crime (but the sponsors would wonder why they are spending all that money on shirts....)

    In my experience it's very unusual (almost unheard of) for society to appoint to an u14 game, so it's more likely someone appointed by the club and wearing his society shirt

    before long I think WR will make referees give a signal to show that the approach has commenced and they can charge.

    like we do at lineouts to say the lineout is over and players can come up
