Welcome aboard, Bill buff.
He trudg’d along unknowing what he sought,
And whistled as he went, for want of thought.
The Referee by John Dryden
or is it Buff Bill?
Feel free to pick one or the other. My name is Bill, and Buff is a nickname I picked up when I started playing club rugby a frighteningly long time ago. I use it as a username on most forums I'm on.
I vaguely recall reading that Rugby was quite big in German before the last war but they lost most of their players. In fact, the answer to "Which country had most international rugby players killed in action in WWII" is Germany, with 16. Scotland lost 15, England 14, Australia 10, France 8, Ireland 7, Wales 3 and NZ 2. SA didn't lose any.
Albert Speer, the Nazi Minister for Armaments and War Production was a rugby player.
