    yes, I think it's maybe more the second thing you mentioned - leaping so that you cannot be tackled.
    it's pretty instinctive now when someone is in the air you wait for them to land (unless, of course, they are in the process of scoring a try...)

    (obv it was penalsed in *that* Lions game in NZ)

    What is a defender supposed to do? Penalising the defender is just rewardimg poor skills

    The problem with that decision by SA Refs is that as has been pointed out, when you are running fast your feet are off the ground 90% of the time, which means according to SA Refs you cant be tackled 90% of the time. Obviously ridiculous.

    And I agree with you, it's rewarding a cr@p pass.
