    Default Championship - no citing?

Just saw this one doing the rounds. Apparently zero punishment for this tackle by Owen Farrell.

    Your thoughts??

at best there is a vague wrap. But that's no "help" here. Head connection with force, tackler remains upright, no mitigation.

    RC.

I cant comment about whether the chammpionship has different laws/interpretations ... are there any other championship incidents not incolving saracens maybe for comparison and card outcome ?

No TMO, so ref has one look. Did he even see it?

From a citing point of view he did wrap, the kicker was dropping in height, so it "may" not reach the red card threshold? May have just been a yellow if seen?

Surely if there was a citing officer, they would have easily considered a red-card threshhold arrived at here?

I understand the bit about no TMO so the game-time punishment is avoided.

Do they have citing officers in the championship?

From https://www.englandrugby.com/governa...g-commisioners - so yes, must have been missed by all the no club raised it either

Citing Commissioners are appointed by the RFU for all Gallagher Premiership, Greene King IPA Championship and Tyrrells Premier 15s matches and are entitled to cite a player for any act or acts of Foul Play that in the Citing Commissioner's opinion warranted a red card.
For such matches, clubs will not have the power to cite a player but may refer incidents to the Citing Commissioner within 4 hours (Gallagher Premiership) or 8 hours (for all other leagues listed above) of the end of the match.
The Citing Commissioner will have 24 hours from the end of the match to make a citing in the Gallagher Premiership and 48 hours from the end of the match in the Greene King IPA Championship and Tyrrells Premier 15s matches. In certain circumstances this deadline can be extended.

There is a citing officer and the interpretations are meant to be the same.
See https://www.englandrugby.com/dxdam/7...28final%29.pdf for a discussio of the regulations on head contact.

I have not seen the incidents so cannot comment as to similarities, but other have wondered about the lack of citing.

if the Blue kicker hadn't got straight back up it might have been a different outcome

You'd hope one of the ARs (who should be focusing on protecting the kicker from late hits, etc) would have
