Not to be too anal retentive, but you aren't actually a tackler in this instance as you never went to ground with the tackled player.

Hmm - Does that mean I wouldn't have to let go of the attacker, I can push him down with my hands and can go straight onto the ball?

It means under law you are classed as an "other" player, however you still have obligations like a tackler to release, move away and enter through the gate before jackling the ball.

    PLAYERS IN A TACKLE
    4. Players in a tackle are :
    a. Tackled player.
    b. Tackler(s).
    c. Others :
    i. Player(s) who hold the ball-carrier during a tackle but do not go to ground.
ii. Player(s) who arrive to contest possession in the tackle.
iii. Player(s) who are already on the ground.

    8. Other players must :
    a. Remain on their feet and release the ball and the ball-carrier immediately.
    b. Remain on their feet when they play the ball.
    c. Arrive at the tackle from the direction of their own goal line before playing the ball.
    d. Not play the ball or attempt to tackle an opponent while on the ground near the tackle.

Assuming they are on the wrong side they have to leave the tackle area and re enter from their own side.
i.e. they cannot stay in the tackle area and just swivel round or move through the tackle area to their own side.
In other words don't get in the way!

    Yeah in order
    1. Hands on the ground before going for the ball.
    2. I also didn't see a clear release
    3. Nothing wrong with this ones, but I literally had to go frame by frame, perhaps the ref thought you were a fraction too slow getting in there?? And the felt the ruck had formed.
    4. Yeah def nothing wrong with this one. Tackled player went to deck, you released before he hit the deck and showed the release too. Then went over him to compete for the ball. This one is the best example from the 4 you've given.

I can't see the ball or the jacklers hands (maybe others have a better playback screen!) and without seeing both I don't see how we can comment on the validity of the jackler attempt.

Much of it is what we are seeing from a single long distance view and based on assumptions that the Jackler is legal in the unseen respects. Or, in the words of a famous Australian, its "It's the vibe of it, It's the Constitution. It's Mabo, It's Justice, It's Law. It's the Vibe and ah, no that's it. It's the vibe. I rest my case."
